DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Concrete laborers and equipment operators will be trained to perform all phases of drilling, sawing, grooving and grinding of concrete. Concrete finishers will be trained on all phases of layout, grading, forming and finishing concrete. A basic knowledge of mechanics and construction jobsite procedures is necessary. A full range of physical activity will be required, including working in confined spaces and above ground from scaffolding, lifts, or ladders. Applicant will use a wide range of hand tools, and will be required to assemble equipment components in a variety of configurations. Daily performance of duties will include lifting and carrying of loads from 10-25 lbs. frequently, 25-50 lbs. often, and 50-75 lbs. occasionally. Lifting of weight up to 50 lbs. overhead will be necessary at times.

Good verbal and written communication skills and basic math skills are essential. A current driver’s license and clean driving record are preferred. Applicants will be expected to work independently from written job orders, and fill out job tickets accurately describing the work that was performed. Occasional travel out of town will be required. Work hours will vary according to schedule demands and will include some evenings and weekends. Overtime in excess of 40 hours per week will periodically be necessary.
